What did you learn?
- This helped me learn more advanced techniques involving color in Figma. I wasn’t quite familiar with the process in Figma to create more advanced uses of color.
What was easy?
- I found deciding which colors to use for each slide/theme to be easier than expected. Referencing past works was quite useful in this regard.
What was challenging?
- The most challenging aspect was definitely the creative process for making my own unique take on the assignment. I tried to find new designs that would utilize the requirements and look good as well. This part of the assignment was more difficult than expected.
How could your submission be improved?
- My submissions technical aspects could definitely be improved. Adding a more advanced use of depth/perspective, or adding techniques like reflection or better usage of the way the colors merge are all things that come to mind when thinking about what I could improve.
How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?
- I think the assignment is in a pretty good spot. Going more in depth on how to blend colors or how to generate effective separation using color would be useful things to emphasize. Often I found myself looking at my project and thinking it looked a bit muddled.
How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?
- This will definitely help with my understanding of using Figma, but also just developing my skills in color usage in general. Different techniques I either wasn’t aware of or hadn’t used before were great for my personal learning experience.
How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?
- http://ollymoss.com/firewatch/ This sit in particular was quite intresting to me. I quite enjoyed the game Firewatch, so when I saw this in the inspiration tab, I thought I’d look through it. This took me through the instagram of the creator and really helped me get a hand on my visualization of the assignment.
