- What did you learn?
I learned how to apply Gestalt properties using only black and white, shapes, sizes, and scales.
- What was easy?
Messing around with shapes and having the ability to put them anywhere I like. Creating the characters was easy because they are different in all shapes and sizes. Everyone thinks differently about what they want their characters to look like.
- What was challenging?
Applying Gestalt properties and not having the ability to use color to express my ideas. I usually use color in most of my personal projects so looking toward the white and black side of things really expressed a different focus.
- How could your submission be improved?
My submission could be improved by using more simple shapes. I think I went a little overboard, because I really wanted to express my creative side and make sure my ideas were being shown.
- How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?
I think the professor should improve this assignment by allowing us students to express our ideas in color. I think it was kind of hard to adapt a black and white mindset where the real world is color.
- How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?
I will apply my knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios by keeping a mindset of these Gestalt properties to allow my work to be more creative.
- How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?
A specific reading and video helped inspire me by showing me some creative shapes that expressed different thoughts to different people.
