Project 5

Summative

  • What did you learn?
  • What was easy?
  • What was challenging?
  • How could your submission be improved?
  • How could I improve the assignment for the next class?
  • How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?
  • How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

For this project we learned how to create stamps using all of the principles learned throughout the course.

It was fairly easy to come up with the ideas for each individual stamp in terms of content. Being that my family is from Lithuania, it made it very easy for me to think about what specifics of each category I wanted to create on each stamp.

It was challenging trying to figure out which fonts would look the best. I choose an official looking font for the name of the country, but a fun looking one to describe each image so that they would contrast and be easily distinguishable from one another.

I tried to keep the same theme throughout the stamps in regard to the visual component. I think that my submission would be better if I had been able to execute this more. Along with that, I feel like the submission could be improved if I had more of a distinct color scheme for each stamp. With trying to keep the same theme for each stamp it made doing that quite difficult.

I wouldn’t change anything about this project. I had a lot fo fun with it and really enjoyed the process of working on it.

I will be able to take the knowledge from each chapter of the course into the rest of my life dealing with any type of digital design. Although this was the first time I had done any type of work with digital design, I feel as though I learned a lot and will now have some type of general knowledge of the subject.

Similar to the last project, viewing previous year’s examples was very useful since it provided me with some type of idea for a starting point and gave me some inspiration instead of just starting with a blank canvas.
