DMA217 Project 1: Using Figma to Build a TODO App

In this project I learned what goes behind trying to piece together an app. I found that there are a lot of paths that have to be created by someone in order to get an app to work. Some thing that I found easy was connecting all the pieces together. When you have a vision in mind it is easy to work around that vision. For instance while I was creating how the editing of each task should go I kept a general image in my head of how the app was going to play out and worked with it to achieve my goal. Something challenging was making sure that the app looked well organized and could actually aid in someone’s life. I found this part difficult because my head wants things to be perfect or at least look well done. Sometimes I would get frustrated that the app looked too plain or looked too complicated. But in the end I was able to find myself close to the middle. I could improve my app by adding in more details and maybe laying around with the fonts and placement a little more. For the next class I believe you can get the students on working with a logo first and then engaging with building the app. I feel like if they were made to start off with a logo they can build up an app design that’s cohesive to the logo. With this project I will take away with the knowledge of working out of the box more often. Instead of doing a cookie cutter approach to my other projects I wanna try to take a spin with creativity and build up with the foundation of the project that is given.
