In this project, we took common metaphors and turned them into photograph combinations of objects that wouldn’t normally go together. My metaphor was, “the world is your oyster.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The easiest part of this project was actually constructing the project. I placed planet Earth and the moon in the shell of an oyster and added in some shadows that would make it look as if it was realistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The hardest part of this project was actually choosing a metaphor to start off of. Many of my choices were either too cliche or I couldn’t put both aspects of the metaphor together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To improve my project, I could have made the oyster shell more simple. It had many ugly appendages where each side of the shell meets and on the inside of the shell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This assignment could be improved by making two metaphors instead of one. A lot of students made metaphors with too much cartoon content, but they were still solid projects, so there should be one realistic and one cartoon project due.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To get a better grasp on the concept of image replacement, I looked back at some of my past work. This is my strong suit as a designer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
