Project 2 Personal Website

What did you learn? From this project, I learned a lot about coding. Before, I knew a little bit of html but that’s about it. CSS was completely new to me and I learned a lot about how it works. I learned what makes a website design good and things I should avoid when designing.

What was easy? The easy part of the project was gathering pictures and images to be used in the website. And while tedious, typing in the code was relatively easy to do.

What was challenging? The challenging part of this project was learning to use JavaScript. Another challenging part was any time there was a mistake, it was pretty difficult to try and find what the issue was. Lastly, trying to mess with the spacing and overall look of the website was challenging.

How could your submission be improved? I can improve this project by cleaning up the alignment on some of the pictures. Overall I could try and make the website more optimal for mobile as well.

How could the professor improve the assignment? I don’t know why but I had more trouble on this project than I ever have before. Maybe the directions were just hard to understand so if they were clearer I think it could’ve been easier.

How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios? I think the knowledge of code this project taught me will make future web design projects way easier to complete. Although my knowledge of code is surface level, I think I could learn more in the future at a potential job or other opportunity.

How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you? During this project I got a lot of help from YouTube tutorials especially when I ran into a roadblock in the code that I didn’t know how to fix on my own. My CSS changes weren’t showing up at one point and a video helped me to see the issue.
