- What did you learn? I learned how to use simple shapes in order to create more complex illustrations. I also got way more comfortable and improved in using the gradient tool.
- What was easy? The easy part for me was shading all the illustrations and it was extremely satisfying. Another easy part was finding a color pallete that looked cool.
- What was challenging? The challenging part of this project was at times I struggled to create the right shape I wanted. I think that comes down to the fact that I still need more practice using the pen tool. Another challenging part was thinking of a theme to illustrate.
- How could your submission be improved? I think my submission could be improved by adding more details into the illustrations. They look a bit simple but that might not be such a bad thing it depends.
- How could the professor improve the assignment? I thing the assignment it good how it is. It was pretty straightforward and the labs we did really helped to understand what the project was trying to accomplish.
- How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments? I think a class this assignment would prepare me for it Interaction Design because the illustrations created here would help create new things in that class. I’ve already taken ID but it just reminds me of that class. This project would also help in a work scenario where I would be asked to make a quick illustration.
- How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you? I used various sources when researching things to do for this project. One source had a bunch of vacation and beach themed things. I thought this theme would go well with the color palette I chose because it just looks chill and laid back like you’d be on vacation.
