1. What did you learn?
I learned how to optimize images in Photoshop using curves and levels adjustment layers, the unsharp mask filter, and the clone stamp and spot healing brush tools. I also learned how to capture images using a scanner, and I learned how to use a gray card to perfect the color of the scanned images.
2. What was easy?
I found it easy to crop images, add adjustment layers, and apply the unsharp mask filter.
3. What was challenging?
The clone stamp and spot healing brush tools took a bit more getting used to. Using the gray card and getting each RGB value to be a perfect 118 was also more challenging.
4. How could your submission be improved?
To improve my submission, I might play around with the order of the images.
5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?
The only thing that I might do to improve the assignment is to give a little more attention to the InDesign portion.
6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?
I might apply this knowledge in any future assignments/work scenarios that require using original images rather than generic stock photos, as I now know how to take both original photographs and scans and optimize them in Photoshop. I can also apply the file management skills we had to use for this project to stay organized in future projects.
7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?
The reading with tips for retouching images was helpful to refer back to as I was getting used to the different Photoshop tools and techniques.
