1. What did you learn?
I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator to design a package; I learned how to convert a bitmap logo to vector, how to create patterns in Illustrator, and how to use the pencil and width tools to create illustrations.
2. What was easy?
I found recreating the Byrne Dairy logo text and creating patterns to be easy.
3. What was challenging?
Drawing the cup was more challenging and took several tries to get the hang of. Cutting out and folding the carton was also more challenging.
4. How could your submission be improved?
To improve my submission, I might try to trace the cow part of the Byrne Dairy logo rather than just using the text.
5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?
I thought that the assignment worked well as is, so I can’t think of anything I would change.
6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?
I had never used Illustrator before this project, so now that I know how to use it I can use it for any future assignments or work scenarios where it makes more sense to work with vector graphics rather than bitmap graphics.
7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?
The video showing how to assemble the carton was especially helpful to refer back to.
