Project 3: Augmented Reality

Test Prototype Here

What did you learn?

In this project, I learned how to use video in Figma, how to incorporate components with variants over top of video, and how to use Figma’s “after delay” prototyping feature. I also learned various methods of data visualization.

What was easy?

Setting up a design system, incorporating elements of data visualization, editing videos to get them down to a small enough size, and adding video fills were easy.

What was challenging?

Working with the “after delay” prototyping feature and getting everything to time out accurately was more challenging.

How could your submission be improved?

To improve my submission, I might include more flows/ find ways to incorporate more video into my prototype.

How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

Something that might improve the assignment would be to have more varied demos. There was a lot of emphasis on how to incorporate arrows/navigational elements, which was helpful, but demos of other types of flows like the ones included in the sample project pitch might be beneficial.

How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

In future assignments or work scenarios where I am working in Figma, I will now be able to incorporate video.

How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

Looking through the examples from Miggi’s class was helpful when getting started with a project pitch and thinking about the kinds of flows that might be included and the ways that AR might be a helpful tool for navigating a space.
