During this lab, I leaned how to use Maya and the basics of creating a 3D image. This lab was pretty easy because of the step by step instructions and Maya is pretty easy to use once you find your way around.
For me, I found that forming the shape of the chess piece was a little challenging. I re-did it about 3 times because it just did not look like a chess piece.
My submission could be improved by fixing the outline of my chess piece as well as taking more time in discovering and becoming more comfortable with the colors/textures that Maya provides.
I think the assignment could be improved for next class was spending a little more time in the development of the design that will form the chess piece. Maya definitely takes practice with using the tools and if we had a little more time focused on the design, it could’ve definitely helped my submission.
I would imply my knowledge I learned from this lab in my future with the possibility of creating 3D logos/images. I would like to work in sports marketing with a professional sports team and I think being able to create a 3D image could boost social media.
