Project 2 Reflection: DMA 212 – 2D Graphics -3/7/2022

  1. What did you learn?

In this project, I learned about Image Compositing and Screensavers. In class, we reviewed in Adobe Photoshop on the Marquee and Lasso Tool, Magic Wand, Pen Tool/Vector Mask on pinning the object to put it in the background, command-click/pull a selection, selecting inverse, and applying as layer mask. Also, we reviewed on what keys to use instead of using the menu dropbox. We used our photos that we used in Project 1.

2. Was it easy?

It was a bit easy for me because there were photos that I want to use for this assignment and what amazed me is that I can use mask my picture and use the cookie label and use a selection that says Threshold and also use the menu in the Layers section to use like: Multiply, Dissolve, Normal, etc.

3. What was challenging?

The challenging part of this project was using the pen tool to pin the picture that you wanted to select and try to line it up with the object to get rid of the background around the object.

4. How could your submission be improved?

There are a couple of things that my submission could be improved: 1. I could have make the background color more flare and make it look fantastic and 2. Maybe I could’ve have started a new one to make it more colorful and make it picture perfect.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I would like to review one more time on the background color and make the background color look more cooler and also review the key tools in photoshop.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

By continuing to learn and review the tools and the computer keyboards on saving, and how to use the pen tool and gradient tool.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

What inspired me the most was using a picture of my grandparents from Project 1 and used it for a background and to use the multiply tool, made a big difference.
