Project 4 Reflection – 5/11/2022

1. What did you learn?

In this project, I learned on making an Infographics Map of what we wanted to pick with using Adobe Illustrator. The map I chose to do is the Canisius College Campus. I also learned on how to make the roads and labeling them by creating a legend or a key for the symbols of what it represents and where it goes. Plus, we learned how to make a banner. We also used the symbols from the Warped Text Lab.

2. What was easy?

The project was a bit easy when we put the labels to where it needed to go and picking the colors from the colors palette that we found online.

3. What was challenging?

The most challenging part of this project was using the pen tool to make the roads and switching between the fill and the stroke to make the roads with the lines in the middle.

4. How could your submission be improved?

One of the ways this project could be improved is putting more bright colors into the map to make it more presentable and maybe put in more roads on the map.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

What the professor could do to improve the assignment for the next class is maybe do a practice before going into the project so we know what to do and use the practice as a reference to fall back on.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I would use the notes and tools that I learned in this project because this was a learning experience for me and would use this in a job setting of some sort.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

Seeing the powerpoint and seeing some of the maps that Professor Dunkle showed us from the previous students gave me something to work on as to how I’m going to design my map.
