For this Lab, my objective is to create a 3D model of a chess piece. Specifically, I learned how to use bezier lines, image imprinting for the wood texture, and the spin tool and in order to create a fully 3D model of a pawn chess piece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was Easy: I loved how it’s so easy to create the bezier lines into an actual 3D image by using the spin tool. Even though it was not required, I also messed around with sculpting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was Hard: Working with the bezier took a lot of time for me to wrap my head around. I always came up short with he amount of bezier I have, and had to redo it over again. Working with the lights and camera was also tricky, as I couldn’t find where the professor was referring to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How could the submission be improved: My model, unfortunately, was not exactly like the professor’s. It’s a bit more curved than I would have liked, but otherwise, I’m proud of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How could the professor improve the assignment: If I had to answer, I would have like more creativity with the project. Instead of a pawn, why can’t we choose which chess piece we would want to create?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How might you apply knowledge: I can imagine 3D modeling is used in creating animation in films and movies. I can remember watching how companies and filmmakers use these types of techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did a specific reading inspire you: There was really no creative aspect for this, so I didn’t have to get inspiration for anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion, the 3D modeling was a difficult but rewarding experience. I would like to learn more about this!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
