Akuma, or devil, being one of the most feared specimens on the planet represents this chess piece perfectly. Piece is so powerful it is able to poison any chess piece that comes within one square of it. Once the enemy piece is poisoned, the player only has 3 moves left after getting affected by the Akuma. Akuma can only move one space at a time, diagonally.
This project forced me to overcome the difficulties of 3D rendering. The sculpt mode is definitely more my style but I was able to learn the edit mode as well. This project was relatively easy to come up with ideas. Based on the fact that chess pieces are basically little warriors and mages with a simplistic design. However, bringing some of my ideas to fruition is the difficult part. Such as the pyro, I couldn’t quite figure out how to make those long extending, flaming “arms” in the back. it was hard to get something to come out of the chess piece while adding the form I exactly wanted. Honestly would have helped a little if Professor Dunkle added a slide show for blender as well. Due to the fact that I couldn’t access Maya. However, the classes were done well enough to get me through the process. This project is probably going to be crucial for me. these are my first steps in 3D rendering and I feel that will be especially helpful for my path in fashion design.
