In doing project 4, I’d say that I learned the most in garageband. I’ve used the software a little bit but not really much outside of messing around on my ipad. With this assignment and the earlier lab 7, I kind of understand now how difficult music production can be. The video editing was the easy part for me. I’ve used imovie a ton just for creating little movies and edits of stuff i like, so the compiling and basic transitions were simple for me. I didn’t have access to premier, as I was unable to get into the labs and recently erased it from my computer, but the most challenging part for me again was garageband. On mac, it’s an entirely new interface and I had to free up storage to re-install and update it. I feel my submission could be improved with simply the footage I took. I highlighted some moments from the lacrosse trip to Manhattan, but I definitely feel I could’ve put more time into capturing cooler shots. The emotion I chose to capture was Curiosity, as this was the first time me and many of my teamates have been to the Bronx, and played in a playoff game. The trip was full of uncertainty and new surprises, and nobody knew how long we were going ti be on the road. We learned a-lot along the way, and our mindset going into the trip was that it was like a business trip. That’s why I called it “Business Trip Curiosity”. For the next class maybe you could have the students interview someone in the movie, or add other dramatic effects and content other than just what was captured on video. I will continue to make and publish video content and movies at it is one of my favorite things to do with my friends and I’d even consider it to be a passion of mine. I like to just use youtube when I am learning new softwares, so for garageband, youtube was a big help.
