1. What did you learn?
I learned about the gestalt principles how to apply them. I also learned that there are specific design crimes that i should try not to commit.
2. What was easy?
It was difficult to apply these principles to the ideas I came up with at first without it feeling forced. There was also accidentally using several different principles in areas I did not intend to.
3. What was challenging?
Portraying everything the way I wanted only using black and white while trying to ensure I wasn’t making any design crimes. Especially because I had forgotten about it at first and utilized shades of gray initially, which forced me to change my design when I remembered.
4. How could your submission be improved?
More time spent on how I could apply different gestalt principles and make what is occurring in the scene visible.
5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?
I personally liked this project how it was.
6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?
if I am to do any designing, I will now know the principles to making or portraying specific principles.
7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?
No specific reading or video inspired me from the class, but the art style of limbo inspired me to a degree as I liked the creepy vibe it was able to portray with a similar color palette.
The Basic structure of the character with only an outline and their white eyes was sort of what i was going for with jack and jill, mostly black bodies with a single white feature to highlight the darkness.
