Project 3 Reflection

  • During the completion of this project I had learned how to combine images in order to create a metaphor, such as “time-flies”. Images can easily be combined to look as though they are one image by removing their backgrounds and placing them in a way that looks like they belong together.
  • The easiest part of this project was picking the metaphor of what I was going to create with the combined images. Creating the background pattern was also fairly easy due to prior practice.
  • The most challenging part of this project was removing excess backgrounds and combining them in a way that makes them look like they actually are just one image.
  • If I had personal access to photoshop I could have possibly improved/ cleaned up my project in certain ways, however, due to quarantine and costly subscription, figma and other editing apps worked well for me. I also have very little prior experience with combining images in this way.
  • In the future, when I have had more experience with photoshopping images I believe that I can improve. It would also be helpful to have more access with applications such as photoshop to further advance my skills in photoshopping.
  • I have a much better understanding of how to remove backgrounds on images and combine them in order to make them look like a single image. This understanding and experience will allow me to know my limits and make my future assignments look cleaner and better thought out.
  • I gained inspiration from the in class videos and other past blog posts from students. I also enjoyed and gained further knowledge from the many links posted by the professor on the project description.
