Project 1 Reflection

  • During this project I had learned how to use Gestalt’s design principles to create an image that portrays a story. In the end I knew much more about Gestalt’s principles and the overall uses of Figma than I had in the beginning.
  • The easiest part of this project was the actual designing of the artboards after I had thought of what I wanted in my head.
  • The most challenging part of this project was thinking of how I could connect a Gestalt design principle to the nursery rhyme of my choice (Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star).
  • I could improve on a project like this with further experience of the subject. By the end of the project I definitely had a better understanding of the assignment than I had in the beginning. With even further experience and knowledge I will gain from upcoming classes, any assignment similar to this should be much easier from the start.
  • In the future when I become more aware of Gestalt’s principles I believe that it would be much easier for me to come up with ideas and then create those ideas on my artboard.
  • Future assignment should be easier for me since I am much more comfortable using figma and understanding design laws than before I completed this project.
  • After watching demos from class and viewing the past project 1 presentations provided by the professor I had a much better understanding of what needed to be completed. I also had gained knowledge and inspiration from Smashing Magazine, which helped me through any additional questions I had
