Project 1

Abstract
Realistic

Little Jack Horner
Sat in the corner,
Eating his Christmas Pie;
He put in his thumb,
And pulled out a plum,
And said, “What a good boy am I!”

Reflection Question

  1. Through our first project I learned how to convey a story through both abstract design as well as a more realistic approach as well as the importance of symmetry and tangent lines.
  2. I think that the easiest part of the project was deciding how I wanted to design the story and what symbols I would use to do so.
  3. The most challenging part was being aware of tangent lines, as I often tend to forget about them. Also, Figma is still a fairly new program for me, so just figuring out how to work on it could be difficult at times.
  4. I think my submission could be improved upon by trying to use a wider variety of symbols,. And of course I’m sure there are some issues with tangents that I have overlooked, that could be improved upon.
  5. I think I could improve the assignment for the next class by, as I mentioned in #4, just being more aware of tangents.
  6. I keep mentioning it, but being aware of tangents is really important in design, so just having practice with it and becoming more aware could be very helpful in the future.
  7. Rather than a reading or video, what really inspired me for this project was the lectures and being able to see what my classmates were able to come up with. Through that I was able to pick up a few tricks that I utilized during this project.
