What did you learn?
I learned about color modes, schemes, properties, and contrast. We analyzed the color wheel and learned how to utilize it in a variety of ways to enhance digital art.
What was easy?
In this project, I think incorporating Gestalt principles was much easier! As I was working, I would notice that I would use these principles without even realizing it. Additionally, I found that using shapes to form depth and create unique objects was easy.
What was challenging?
The most challenging part of the project was deciding which color scheme to use in each landscape. I would have to begin to develop my frame to determine which color scheme to use.
How could your submission be improved?
My submission could be improved by planning out my frames more beforehand. In some instances, I feel that I came up with concepts on the spot, which caused it to take longer.
How could this assignment be improved for the next class?
I believe that the assignment is very clear and well-thought out. I don’t think there needs to be any changes.
How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?
The skills and principles I learned from this project will be very beneficial for future assignments and work scenarios. I could use this to make similar projects or even to explain the principles of color and Gestalt to others.
How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?
Although there was not a specific reading or video that inspired my images, I was inspired by all of the student examples. I went through each of the examples provided and could not believe how amazing they all were! Through this, I tried to make something just as great.
