Project 3: Type History Poster

Inspiration:

Reflection:

  • What did you learn?

I learned how to format text in InDesign and illustrator in a user-friendly way while still being conscious of the design layout. I also learned how to get rid of hyphens in both adobe programs.

  • What was easy?

It was easy knowing how I wanted to present my information. Once I settled on a font, I knew I wanted to model my design after the old mac screen layout to emphasize the time period and why it was made.

  • What was challenging?

It was challenging picking which font to do my project on. I had a lot of fonts I wanted to work on for the project but couldn’t figure out a solid design for the poster that truly represented the font’s style and purpose.

  • How could your submission be improved?

I feel like my submission could be improved if I could space out the window screens better, so I could have the icons more spread out as it would be on an actual laptop.

  • How can the professor improve the assignment in the future?

I don’t think anything needs to be improved on the professor’s end.

  • How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I can apply my knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios with how to make a design go along with the font being used. I could also apply how to properly format content with heavy text so it looks good and is easier to read as a consumer.

  • How did a specific reading, video, or example inspire or help you?

Looking at what old mac screens looked like helped me figure out how to format my design so you can get an idea of when the font was created and what its intended purpose was.
