Project 1 Blog

What did I learn? I learned a lot. I learned how to actually use Photoshop. I learned how to crop the background out of a picture. I learned how to use multiple photo shop tools to create art. I learned about the importance of fonts. I never really thought of fonts as having so much power as they do.

What was easy? The easiest part for me was using the magnetic lasso tool. I found that part kinda fun. Other than that nothing was really easy or hard. I just didn’t have any experience with Photoshop before this class. I had to watch the videos over and go slow.

What was challenging? Nothing was really challenging. Once I watched the videos and went slow I was able to duplicate what Prof. Dunkle did.

How could your submission be improved? More time. I think if I worked on the project longer I could come up with more creative and fun ways to design my project. I could edit the fonts more or maybe crop some more cool photos on the front of the card.

How can your Professor improve the assignment in the future? I’m not sure. I have a blast doing this project and I will definitely put what I learned to use in the future by making cards for parties or for birthdays.

How might you apply your knowledge to future projects or work scenarios? Well now I know how to use Photoshop well basic Photoshop. Either way I feel that I can make some pretty cool posters and cards now. This will come in handy for my summer job. I work at a company that teaches people how to ice skate. I can make posters now for the upcoming camps and hang them up around the rink.

How did a specific reading, video, or example inspire you? The article we read about font inspired me. Before then I really didn’t acknowledge font. Now when I see writing anywhere I focus on the font. I understand the power font has. One of my favorite parts of the project was picking a spooky font to go with my card.
