Project 3 Reflection

1. What did you learn?

From this project, I learned how to make a product’s packaging. From picking the right font to making the patterns and drawings. The most interesting part of this project was learning how to make the same font as the original.

2. What was easy?

The easiest part of this project was making the patterns for the background. I found this easy because it was just a matter of a few shapes and adjusting stroke levels. Also, it was similar to one of the labs we did on textures.

3. What was challenging?

The most challenging part of this project was using the Exacto knife precisely enough. I found it hard cutting with the knife because it kept moving at an angle when I’m trying to cut it straight.

4. How could your submission be improved?

It could’ve been improved if I could’ve glued it a little better. Also if I was more precise when cutting it would’ve made gluing easier as well.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

The professor can improve the assignment for the next class by giving more time for the assembly. I feel like there was more time for the labs than there was for assembling it, even though assembling it doesn’t take much time, it sucks rushing to cut the guide.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I will apply my knowledge of making the milk carton for future work scenarios by designing it in illustrator. From re-doing a brand’s font, and making a pattern all of the skills I gained from this project will come into future work scenarios because I do want to help companies brand their products and make them look clean and pretty.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

I though the packaging was so cute and I love organic ingredients and TJ’s
