Project 3- Game Design

1. What did you learn?

I learned how to make microinteractive buttons. Also how to use auto layout in the frames to make everything even. I think microinteractions adds an exciting element to normal things. Animating things enhances user experience immensly.

2. What was easy?

It was easy coming up with the color scheme and fonts. I wanted it to feel very minimalistic. I also found it very easy trying to prototype it. I enjoyed making the microinteractions by making them into components and adding variables to it.

3. What was challenging?

The most challenging part was the auto layout. It gave me a lot of trouble when I tried putting buttons in certain places. Overall not a fan of auto layout. Sometimes I don’t need a button to be completely in the center. It just really frustrated me when auto layout would mess up my organization.

4. How could your submission be improved?

I could improve my submission by creating a better navigation bar. However the game is pretty long so I had to do the tutorial mode. I could also include more flows like a dress store. I also could have drawn the characters instead of using my apple id emoji.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

The professor did a good job demonstrating what to do for the project. He also showed us resources to get inspired (dribble).

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I will use my knowledge when making apps in the future for my job. I will use resources like dribble for inspiration. I think this is a great resource to use when it comes to getting inspired. I enjoyed other people’s designs and it certainly made it easier for me to understand how I want my own app to look like.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you? I use to play this game so much when I was younger and I think that’s what inspired me to make a game similar to it.

8. Show some images of your work in .jpg or .png format. Include sketches, work in progress, and final images. If your work is interactive or video, post a link to the project.
