DMA 217 Project 1

  • What did you learn?

I learned how to navigate more efficiently on Figma. I never used plug ins or the whole components before. I really liked using plug ins whether it was to search for fonts, or icons, or color pallets.

What was easy?

I think the easiest part for me was to design the app. I already had a good idea of what I wanted, the hardest part was bringing it all together.

  • What was challenging?

the most challenging part of the project was creating buttons. It was really confusing for me at the beginning because of all the steps there are. However all those steps are worth it because it makes the app feel more alive, more interactive.

  • How could your submission be improved?

Perhaps having more interactivity with the app. Even though it is already pretty interactive if I had more time I would add more.

  • How could I improve the assignment for the next class?

If I were to improve the assignment for next class I would do the logo that leads to the main welcome page. I know that was extra credit so I didn’t really pursue it to the best of my ability.

  • How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I will apply my knowledge of creating buttons, components, variants for future assignments and work scenarios. If I am ever to prototype an app in the future I will make sure to input interactive buttons.

  • How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

This article inspired me to make an app that helps people with getting a very tedious yet nutritious task done. It saves more time when you’re at the grocery store looking at a pre-curated list instead of running around the whole store trying to remember what you need.
