Monogram Lab

Introduction: For this lab, I created monogram, from concept to actually using Illustrator to create it.

What did you learn: I learned how to manifest a monogram using only text, colors, and the selection tool. This lab also expanded my creativity, from sketch to completion.

What was Easy: It was fairly easy coming up with a design idea, and using the text on Illustrator was a simple task as well.

What was Hard: On a stroke of luck, the professor chose his initials the same as mine, so I didn’t have a lot of room to be creative than I already did. I also would say that the small simple things I planned to do was a lot harder than it looked, with the direct selection tool being especially tedious.

How could your submission be improved: I would say I could have used a bit more

Finished project.

How could the professor improve the assignment: Personally, I couldn’t find anything that is overwhelmingly difficult about this project. I liked how this project was based more on our concept and creativity instead of how to replicate a task.

How might I apply this: I might apply this in acreative aspect for my job, like creating logos for companies, or simply to create art.

How did a specific reading help this: I don’t believe I had any specific reading or illustration to help me get inspired. I used my initialed and tried to come up with as many creative designs as I possibly is.

In conclusion, this was a unique take on a lab, focusing more on concept and creativity than replicating an art piece. Overall, I really admired this lab, as it was short, sweet, and charming to accomplish.
