You’re Sitting on a Winning Lottery

“You’re Sitting on a Winning Lottery” v1.0

During this project I came up with the first image above which I thought was okay but I did not really enjoy it. It is more of an abstract piece that kind of defeats the purpose of the metaphor because the guy in the frame almost looks like he has one the lottery already. It’s also a little too warm for me, it makes it seem as though the guy is happy although he hasn’t accomplished anything yet. The metaphor implies that he has the opportunity to have these riches but he has to make the right moves to obtain them. I felt like I really didn’t display that through this image.

So I came up with a new one.

“You’re Sitting on a Winning Lottery” v1.1

With this piece I wanted it to feel colder so I used a woman with pale, almost cold skin. I also made it seem like she wasn’t very happy unlike the last guy, she is keeping to herself. The dollar sign pattern on the wall is me trying to make it seem like the idea of the quote is jumping out at her, yelling at her to take advantage of her situation. I didn’t know exactly how I wanted to portray this and this is the best I could come up with while not scrapping the environment. I’m sure there are much better ways to portray the message but I’m not too bummed out with what I came up with.
