My project was doing 6 sketches of a nursery rhyme using only simple shapes and black and white colors. I chose Jack and Jill as my nursery rhyme because I already had ideas of what to sketch for each line. I learned different techniques to better my sketches including continuation and similarity. I found it challenging to come up with solid ideas for some lines but I found it easy to transfer my sketchbook ideas to Figma. I could of improved upon my sketches by incorporating more Gestalt principles like containment and proximity. I don’t think there are ways to improve this assignment besides giving the student more choice in what to sketch. I learned a ton about how to use Figma and will use that knowledge for later assignments.
