Project 2: Color

In this project, you have to make four pictures using different coloring techniques. I learned different ways color combines and offsets each other. I also learned how to use Figma’s color tools more fully, to help better design and color my projects in the future. I think the easiest part of this project was sketching and drawing out the blueprints to the pictures. The most challenging part was figuring out how to put the ideas and sketches of the pictures, into Figma and making it a reality. I think my project could be improved by adding more detail into the color by adding gradient and adjusting the hue and saturation. I think something that the professor can change is having the student pick the categories his/her picture fall under, instead of having the categories already picked (maybe pick the categories out of a hat). I can use the knowledge of the color tools and methods I learned for future projects. For the urban picture, I used the complementary color method for the buildings, windows, and the stars, to create a vibrant look for the picture. For the desert picture, I used the split-complementary color method for the buildings and windows, and made the pyramid and sun the main focus of the picture. For the space photo, I used the analogous color method for the planet and the stars to create a picture that is pleasing to the eye, with its cool colors and its perfect harmony. For the aquatic picture, I used the Triadic color method for the fish and corals to make the picture look vibrant and uplifting.
